Poblacion Beach Resorts and Hotels – Sipalay City, Negros Occidental

Poblacion Beach is one of the most charming beaches in Sipalay City. Its peculiar setup of having the hotels and restaurants constructed far from its shore is a remarkable example of an ideal beach. Located just beside the city proper, it’s amazing how this beach is very neat and well-maintained.

Great tasting local food can be enjoyed by its visitors in its nearby food hall. Sipalay’s spectacular sunset is there to give you a pleasant time while waiting for your order. As nighttime comes in, they have a live band to entertain you while delighting yourself with a sumptuous dinner.

Budget-Friendly Poblacion Beach

We’ve been to Sipalay twice already but it was only on our third visit that we got the chance to explore Poblacion Beach. Our real purpose of booking a hotel there is to save some money but it made me realize that we’ve been missing one of the best spots of Sipalay on our previous visits.

To expound further about how it would save us some money, we found out that the hotel rooms near this beach are way much cheaper compared to the nearby beaches because it’s just beside the city proper. Cheaper restaurants and grocery stores are also very accessible here.

Just to give you an idea, the cost of our airconditioned hotel is only P800.00 a night while the one we booked way back in 2012 in Punta Ballo beach is P2,000.00 a night. Despite its cheap cost, our hotel room in Poblacion was large, has several amenities and has a fast wifi connection.

Since we’re already in the town proper, getting to the other popular beaches and resorts was easy and didn’t cost us much because we brought our own vehicle.

Overlooked Charm

Since Poblacion Beach is just beside the city proper, we’re not really expecting anything special about its quality. I was later surprised to find out how beautiful it is upon getting there. It was very broad compared to the nearby beaches and it wasn’t crowded.

It’s not very crowded even if it was summertime

Now in terms of the sand quality, it’s a bit behind compared to the other beaches. It has grayish-white sands unlike the whiter beaches in the area but it has a breathtaking sunset view.

Ideal Beach

What made it stand out for me is its ideal setup. Unlike the other beaches here in the Philippines, it’s not filled with tent stores that are randomly scattered in the area. They have a food hall that is neat and orderly.

The food hall is far from the beach area

There are some tables near the shore but everyone is making an effort to keep the beach clean. The city government has a high penalty for littering that’s why we were really careful not to leave any mess after our dinner.

Flavorful and meaty fish

I felt envious of the locals because this beach is accessible anytime for them. It’s a great place to have a morning exercise or swim. Afternoon walks and relaxation would be awesome here as well. Make sure not to miss their fruit shakes. They have some of the best in the country. My brother even ordered four glasses of avocado shake while my wife ordered two.
