Pangasinan is known for its Hundred Islands National Park together with its fantastic beaches in Bolinao, Lingayen, Tombobong and Anda. The province got its name a long time ago from its major industry which is salt. The Filipino word “asin” means salt and the word Pangasinan “a place of salt”. Until today this province is one of the major suppliers of salt in the Philippines.

The Hundred Islands National Park is literally a group of small islands which amounts to a hundred (124 during low tide and 123 during high tide). It’s amazing how some of the Philippines’ wonders come in bundles. This group of islands can be compared to Bohol’s Chocolate Hills only partially submerged in water. We can also consider this group of islands a miniature representation of the entire Philippine archipelago which is made up of 7,107 islands.

The islands may look a bit the same from afar but each of them has unique features that the visitors could enjoy. Some of the islands have white sand beaches, some have caves and one even has a pool. There’s one which looks like a turtle, another looks like an alligator, then another which looks like a cathedral and one which looks like a camel. The cool varieties these islands can bring you are only limited by your imagination.

In our upcoming posts, we will be featuring the Lucap Wharf and our experience exploring the Hundred Islands National Park. We’ll also feature major island stopovers like Governor’s Island, Marcos Island, Quezon Island, Children’s Island and our snorkeling experience with the Giant Clams (Taklobo).

https://5starbus.ph/
Travel Time
From Manila: 4-6 hours
From Clark, Pampanga: 3 hours
From Baguio: 2 – 3 hours
From Olongapo, Subic: 3 -4 hours
Outside Luzon:
If you’re outside Luzon, you can check out the websites of the airlines below to see which one offers the best price for a trip going to Metro Manila.
Cebu Pacific
Philippine Airlines
After reaching Metro Manila, you can get to Pangasinan by following the instructions above or you can also rent a van or a car using the website below.
http://www.transaviarentacar.com/
Explorer’s Tip:
Take advantage of their snorkeling offer to enjoy watching their giant clams (Taklobo). Be careful with the snorkeling platform’s sharp corners as it can cause large scratches like what happened to my wife’s arm. Some colorful schools of fish can also be seen with giant clams.

If you travel in a large group, getting a transient house and sharing fees would be the most cost-effective way to stay in Pangasinan. There was 10 of us during our trip but we only had to pay P4,000.00 per night for our 3 days 2 nights stay.
Wow, this is a boatload of information Edwin! Thanks for the hard work compiling these stuff.
Hi Jena,
Thanks for your appreciation! I always try to put as much information as I can to make it very convenient for our readers to plan their trips.
Thanks.
Hi Joan,
Sorry for the late reply. We stayed in Kylah Transient House. This covers two rooms on the 2nd floor plus the use of a large kitchen on the first floor.
Is the location by the beach? Or a walk to the beach?
Hi Ranjit,
Our transient house is a long walk from the wharf. There’s no nearby beach in the wharf area where you could swim.
Greetings
Would like to ask among the hotels in alaminos, which has the best accomodations?
Thank you
Sincerely,
Lorraine
Hi Lorraine,
During our stay in Alaminos City, we booked a transient house because can save money since we’re a large group of ten people instead of booking in a hotel. If it was just me and my wife, the hotels below would be my candidates:
Villa Antolin, Maxine by the Sea, Island Tropic Hotel and Restaurant and Helden Resthouse.
We haven’t personally explored each one or seen them up close, but the reason I’m picking these is because they are all placed in the wharf area where you can enjoy the nice breeze coming from the sea plus the wonderful view of the islands from afar.
I also noticed later that there’s another transient house near the wharf area as well which is the Ed Correa Transient House. I would pick this one our family decides to visit Hundred Islands again.
Have a Happy Trip!
EJ
Thank you for all these info that took so much effort and time for you to put together. My family and I are planning to visit hundred islands and I see that you recommended staying at the Ed Correa Transient House. Do you have a contact # for the owner/ operator?
Thanks again!
Hi Grace,
I don’t have the owner’s name but I have the contact number and address.

Have fun! :)
thanks for the info. would you know how much is the cost for the boat during island hopping?
my family plans to visit this holy week. thank you.
Hi Miggy,
A small boat which can carry 5 people costs P800.00 while a medium size boat designed for 10 people costs P1,000. The largest one which can handle 15 people costs P1,100.00.
Have a safe and happy trip this coming Holy Week! :)
Hi Sir. TY
Hi Xaan,
We don’t have a contact person for the boat rental but it’s easy to find them in the Lucap Wharf. We rented a boat just a day before our island hopping.
Do you know a transient house that is by the beach? Any recommendations? I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi Ranjit,
All of the transient houses I’ve seen so far are just within the wharf area. Most of the beaches are in the small islands which you’ll only see during your island hopping tour.
how much po ang rate per night sa Ed Correa Transient House? many thanks…
Hi Lisette,
Please contact Ed Correa Transient House at mobile numbers 09192032313 & 09212986642 for the updated rates. I hope they offer you a good price. Have a fun trip! :)
hello, thanks for all the information i took from you, it was very helpful for me.God bless!
Hi Conception,
Comments like yours is what motivates me to write very helpful and detailed blog posts. Thanks for the feedback. God bless! :)
Hi Edwin,
My boyfriend and I we’re planning to celebrate our 6th Anniversary at Pangasinan. Can you please recommend us a best place where we can enjoy our stay. Thanks much!
Hi Krisha,
Since it’s your anniversary, a romantic spot you might want to consider for your entire stay is within the Lucap wharf area where there’s a nice view of the islands. You might want to check Maxine by the Sea or Villa Antolin. Please check our complete list of hotels within the area to find the most suitable one for your budget. :)
Hi edwin.
Sir kung may pic k po ng mga hotel at mga transient houses, mas malaking tulong po yun s blog mo, at ppwedeng nming ishare sa mga kapwa nmin OFW at ibang lahi na rin, kc hirap maghnap ng magandang tutuluyan, minsan, nkkdisappoint minsan kapag di maayos yung tutuluyan, sana magkaroon ng worldclass n hotel, restaurant and amenities sa alaminos para mas darami tourist..please post more info..salamat and more power
Hi Xzlent,
Hi Edwin
I’m interesested na magbook sa mga transient houses sa Pangasinan kaya lang I’m not sure which one so could you please recommend with contact details para naman matawagan ko at maibook. Transient house preferred would be good for 10-20 people. Thanks and regards
Hi Joveyn,
Here’s a shortened version of the list of transient house I provided above:
JEWEL’S AND IVY TRANSIENT HOUSE – Mobile: 09232426315 / 09232426332
JAYDEES TRANSIENT HOUSE – Mobile: +63-947-171-7635
VERONICA HAUSCHILD TRANSIENT HOUSE – Phone: (075) 5415430, Mobile: 09209463915 / 09993326484
BERLIN TRANSIENT HOUSE- HUNDRED ISLANDS – Phone: 075- 5513915, Mobile: 09184099595 / 09287789699
Thanks!
hi, we plan to go to lingayen and hundred islands this january? is it a good time for island hopping?
pano po process sa island hopping? once you go there, madami na boatmen for the trip? and pwedeng sa marcos island and quezon island lang kami mag stay ng matagal? we plan to have day tour only coming from lingayen.
Thanks in advance.
Hi franz,
What we did is go to the wharf to look for a boatman who can give us a good tour package for island hopping right after we booked in our transient house. :)
Hi,
Is this white sand? I am looking for a white sand beach front place.
Thanks.
Hi Bym,
The sands are not as white compared to other regions but you’ll only see them during your island hopping tour because those islands where the white sands are don’t have resorts.
Have a fun trip!
